Retreat is a new self-contained, oceanfront 1-bedroom log cottage,
overlooking Baynes Sound and the Beaufort Mountain range. Peaceful
and private, Lognest is set amongst seven acres of forested land
at the North end of Denman Island, and is ideal for couples or families
of up to five.
At Lognest Retreat, there is much to do and explore for kids of
all ages! Relax on the beach (beach access is on the property by
a boardwalk and stairs; bring good beach shoes for exploring the
shoreline), enjoy the walking trails through adjoining acreages
of private land, or get out on the water with our rental kayaks.
Kayaks are launched into the protected waters of Baynes Sound from
Lognest's waterfrontage. A one hours paddle can take you to Sandy
Island Marine Park for picnicking or camping—a great excursion
for beginners and advanced paddlers alike. Guided kayak tours are
also available on request.

Where is the Lognest?
Denman Island is a ten minute ferry ride from Buckley Bay on Vancouver
Island. 80 kilometres/50 miles north of Nanaimo, 200 kilometres/125
miles north of Victoria. Take a B.C. ferry from the city of Vancouver
to Vancouver Island.
Lognest Retreat is only a 10 minute drive (6 kms./4 mi.) north
from the ferry landing and the amenities offered in Denman’s
downtown village. Coming from the ferry, take a left at the top
of the hill onto Northwest Rd. Continue on this road for 6 kms/4
mi. until turning left on Gladstone Way, where the Lognest is the
first driveway on the left.
Experience island living at its waterfront splendor, beachcombing,
kayaking, hiking/biking on trails, swimming or just relaxing on
the deck or hot tub overlooking the ocean.
