Denman Island Home and Garden Tour
The
Denman Island Home and Garden Tour is back for 2009!
This year's Tour will take place a whole month earlier than usual,
May 9-10.
This is the perfect chance to gain inspiration for designing
your dream property, as the beautiful West Coast homes and majestic
gardens of Denman Island are put on exhibit.
Innumerable varieties of fragrant roses and colourful perennials,
carefully integrated into superbly crafted gardens, highlight the
Tour. You will have the opportunity to speak with the creators
of these living works of art about their experiences designing
and building their homes and gardens, and the sometimes humorous
trials and tribulations of island life. This
unbeatable summer attraction is Denman Island's most
popular annual event—don't miss it!
The benefit tour brings out the very best of Denman's gardens,
hospitality and charm. All proceeds are given to the Denman
Conservancy Association, and this year's donations will go
toward the the preservation of natural areas on Denman Island.
Events such as the Conservancy Denman Island Home and Garden Tour
assist with raising funds and help make conservation efforts on
the island possible.
Important Notes:
- While some properties are close together, many
are several kilometres apart. Therefore, doing
the Tour on foot is not recommended.
- There is no public transportation available
on Denman Island, so you'll want to come by vehicle
or bicycle. Cyclists will have the benefit of
a more intimate view of our island, but will likely
not be able to take in all the properties on the
Tour.
- Larger groups are encouraged to travel to Denman
in vans or minibuses.
- Please carpool if you can! Carpooling saves
money (especially on ferry costs), and is better
for the environment. Plus, it's fun to do the
Tour with friends!
Wholesome food and scrumptious desserts will be
available all weekend at the Denman Island Community
Hall, providing a "downtown" Denman location
to relax and fortify before your next stop on the
Tour.
Come explore this charming rural community-- the
Denman Island Home and Garden Tour is sure to please
everyone!
