The 22nd annual Denman Island Pottery Tour offers you the opportunity
to visit nine different pottery studios featuring the work of 13
renowned potters. These local artisans will be on hand to talk
to visitors about their latest work. A wide range of beautiful
items will be on display, from useful pieces of kitchen and dining
ware, timeless tea sets,and decorative items such as vases and
necklaces of ceramic beads, to sculpture and other fine-art pieces.
Thousands of hours of wedging and kneading clay, wheel-throwing
and hand-building, firing, glazing and firing again, have gone
into the creation of these unique pieces.
Visitors will also have the chance to enjoy the peaceful beauty
of Denman Island. Stroll along the beach or take a walk in the
woods to soothe your soul. Have lunch or brunch at one of our two
new restaurants. Whether you come for one day or the whole weekend,
a Denman Island getaway is an inexpensive and easily accessible
mini-vacation. You'll return home rested and refreshed.
There is no charge for this self-guided tour. Just pick up a tour
map at the ferry depot and experience the studios at your own pace.
