The Denman Island Readers and Writers Festival has become a much-anticipated annual event over the past few years. Drawing from celebrated authors to budding literary stars, this fabulous festival has something for everyone who is fascinated by the written and spoken word. Denman’s own coterie of talented writers, from novelists to poets, are always well represented, and the Island’s aspiring young writers are encouraged to participate as well. For those who love to write and those who love to read, it’s an opportunity not to be missed.
The 10th Annual Denman Island Readers and Writers Festival
Thursday through Sunday,
July 19-22, 2012
This year’s event will feature an impressive list of talent, with Vancouver CBC host, writer and broadcaster Bill Richardson presiding as moderator.
We’re also delighted to announce the return of festival favourite, Jack Hodgins as our 2011 Writer-in-Residence. He will facilitate an intensive week-long workshop for writers both new and experienced. Be sure to register early as the class limit is 10 participants to work with this well respected Canadian author and teacher.
